Why does cloth blind and how is it prevented?

Blinding usually comes from fines trapped in the weave, over-pressure at the end of the cycle, or a cloth that is too tight for the particle size. Cake washing, correct cycle control and a matched permeability reduce it.

Can you supply cloth cut to an existing plate?

Yes. Send the plate dimensions, port positions and a photo of the installed cloth. We cut and fit to the plate, including eyelets and fixing cords where needed.

BESTCOME supplies polypropylene, polyester and polyamide filter cloth in plain, twill and satin weaves, cut and fitted for chamber and membrane plates. Cloth is specified from the particle size distribution, pH and temperature of the slurry, then checked against the plate drainage pattern.
