Palm oil mill effluent solids recovery
A plate and frame press for batch solids recovery, with stainless wetted parts for washdown.

Background
A mill wanted to recover residual solids from process effluent and reduce the load on downstream treatment.
Duty conditions
Effluent at 1–6 % solids, oily, 40–70 °C, batch collection through the day.
Delivery scope
Pilot trial, press supply, cloth selection and a washdown procedure for the food environment.
What needed attention
Oil in the feed changed cloth behaviour noticeably. A pre-collection tank improved consistency before filtration.
What carried over
When feed quality varies through the day, buffer capacity is part of the filtration design.
Other project scenarios
All scenarios
Copper tailings dewatering for dry stacking
A chamber press with abrasion protection, sized for continuous tailings throughput and stackable cake.

Dyeing sludge dewatering with reduced haulage volume
A membrane press replaced an ageing chamber unit to lower cake moisture and cut transport cost.
